Day 10, 1-27-07

Parker had a good day yesterday.
He was taken off a couple meds/treatments.
(I'm taking that as a positive sign!)
His fever and blood pressure continue to fluctuate.

Last night they switched him to an air bed that will
allow him to be rotated from side to side.
He reacts when it moves him.

Parker is still sedated and on the vent
but is responding to our voices and
moving his hands and legs a little.
Parker does not like it when they suction
out his mouth so he bites down on the tube,
silly boy :)

Parker got an e-card and email from one of his heroes,
Rick Mitchell, saying that he's praying for him.
We know this lifts Parker's spirit! Thanks, Rick!

Strength to the whole family from the Bassets. It was wonderful seeing you guys this week at the hosptial, and being able to see and speak to Parker was a special blessing indeed. Our prayer is that he heard us telling him how much we love him.
Jesus, our healer, we put Parker into your gentle hands. Please ease his pain, and ease the distress in his little body. May your light surround him, your presence enfold him, and your power heal him. Give special skills and tender hearts to all who care for him, and show them how best to assist in your work of healing. Through Christ our Lord, AMEN

We are all praying for Parker. I put him on the prayer list of my Sunday School class at church and have several friends praying for him as well. Tell him he has to get well soon. He is missing out on Deal or No Deal.
